Organization and contact informationDepartment of Crop genetics and breeding, Agricultural college, Yangzhou University Address: N117# Agronomy building, 48 Wenhui road (east), Yangzhou 225009, P. R. China
Academic dutiesMember of the 13th Youth committee of Chinese Society of Plant Pathology.
Research Interests1. Rice breeding towards disease resistance and abiotic stress tolerance via conventional and modern technologies (i.e. marker-assisted selection, gene transformation and genome editing)
2. Molecular mechanism of rice resistance to sheath blight disease, one of the three most serious rice diseases worldwide3. Molecular interaction of R.solani (the causagent of rice sheath blight) and host plants
GrantsThe on-going projects / grants in our Lab:
1. National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC 31571748 and 31672013), the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation for Young teacher (151026) and the key project of University natural science of Jiangsu (14KJA21003)
Objects in these projects are to isolate QTLs conferring rice sheath blight resistance as well as to elucidate its molecular mechanism, and to investigate the issues associated with breeding utilization of sheath blight resistance QTLs.
2. National Transgenic projects (2012ZX08009001 and 2014ZX08001-003B).
Objects in the two projects are to develop new rice lines or varieties with strong resistance to rice sheath blight and rice black streak dwarf virus disease through transgenic technology.
3. Jiangsu natural science foundation (SBK201320002), Jiangsu Key Research Plan (BE2015363 and BE2015341), and Jiangsu Agriculture Science and Technology Innova-tion Fund (CX(12)1003).
Objects in these projects are to develop new rice lines or varieties with strong disease resistance through integrating with marker assisted selection and conventional breeding technology.
4. National Science & Technology Pillar Program (2015BAD01B01).
Object in this project is to identify associational markers /QTLs with rice salt tolerance through GWAS strategy and to develop new rice lines with salt tolerance.
