The national natural science foundation of China (NSFC) has released the list of the 2018 National Science fund winners for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Liu Qiaoquan from our university was selected and he was the forth winners from Yangzhou University since the establishment of the fund.

The Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars mainly support young scholars who have made outstanding achievements in basic research to carry out innovative research in their own research direction, promote the growth of young scientific and technological talents, attract overseas talents, and cultivate a group of outstanding academic leaders in the forefront of science and technology in the world.

The Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars was officially name in 1994.The annual quota is only 200, and the subsidy rate is generally within 10%.The 200 winners in 2018 were from 112 scientific research Units.
