In order to make our students further understand the current situation of the agricultural development in the World, Bilingual course, “World Agriculture "in both Chinese and English has been added since 2014. Aims to Introduce the development of agriculture all over the world from the multiple perspectives such as history, characteristics, dynamics and trends, strengthen students' professional knowledge, stimulate students thinking of Agricultural issues, and cultivate students' thoughts and feelings of learning agriculture, loving agriculture and strengthening agriculture. Recently, the course organized two guest lectures, which further broadened students' horizons.
The first speaker is Ye Jian, CEO of Beijing New Growing Information Technology Company. He has rich working experience in seed industry enterprises and worked in Bioseed, Dabeinong Group and other large seed companies successively. He introduced the overview of the global seed industry enterprises, so that students can understand the overall pattern of the current world seed industry enterprises, as well as the story behind the development and reform.

The second speaker is Mr. Tao Tao, secretary general of Jiangsu Cuckoo Industry Alliance. He introduced the practice, exploration and thinking of the integrative development of Scale farming industry in Jiangsu Province. This mode aims to create a new industrial service chain of integrative development of agricultural industry, which combined raw material market, research institutes, farmers, processing enterprises and sales together, to realize the effective connection between the upper, middle and lower reaches of the industry, and provide a powerful service platform for farmers to save cost and increase efficiency.

Compared with the traditional teaching, the way of “invite experts into the lecture hall and tell the case by their own word” bring agriculture closer to reality aroused a great response among the students, who not only actively asked questions and participated in the discussion, but also put forward their own thoughts on the development of agriculture and their future career planning.
