Qu Mingnan's team published a research paper in Plant Communications, revealing a new mechanism of carbon and phosphorus co-regulation in rice

On March 19, 2024, Professor Qu Mingnan's research group published a paper entitled "GWAS unravels acid phosphatase ACP2 as a photosynthesis regulator under phosphate" in Plant Communications "starvation condition through modulating serine metabolism in rice", using 206 microcore rice germplasm populations collected from 96 countries around the world, through genome-wide association (GWAS) analysis, A major gene with high carbon efficiency, acid phosphatase ACP2, which is tolerant to low phosphorus, was excavated, and the molecular mechanism of its synergistic effect on photosynthesis and phosphorus utilization (PPUE) was revealed by regulating the coupling of serine and photorespiration under low phosphorus conditions.
