报告人简介：

Zhou Bo joined the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations based in Bangkok, Thailand, in January 2019, as an Agriculture Officer. He mainly works on plant production related normative work and program. He is involved in provision of technical backstopping to various field projects related to plant production, protection, sustainability, and rural development in Members in RAP. He also works as a resource person to provide technical guideline and clearance of seed and plant related issues in RAP. He collaborates closely with FAO’s colleagues and external partners to promote the integration of climate smart and nutrient dense crops in the existing food system for achieving food security, improved nutrition and sustainable agriculture.

Before he joined FAO, he worked as a faculty member focusing on rice and rice pathogen interactions in various research institutes and universities. In 2012-2019, he worked as a Senior Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines and worked on the rice host plant resistance program against major fungal pathogens. He published over 50 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology in Shanghai Institutes of Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China.
